Job Title: Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift

Duration: 3 months

Location: 637 Route 23 South, Pompton Plains, NJ

Shift: M & Th 8:30-4:30, T, W, F 8-4

Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients, whether as part of their health routine or for insights into health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples, prepares specimens for lab testing, and follows established procedures.

It involves direct patient contact, creating trust and confidence by explaining procedures and drawing blood safely and accurately. The PSR II demonstrates leadership, process excellence, and maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or as needed. Under supervision, perform daily activities accurately, maintain a safe environment, and follow established practices for specimen collection and processing. Verify patient demographic information and maintain proper records. Promote a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.

Job Requirements
  1. Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  5. Adherence to policies, procedures, and dress code, with a focus on safety and excellence.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations, including coverage at Patient Service Centers.
  9. Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  10. Strong customer focus and effective communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.
  11. Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  1. Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  2. At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  3. Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience.
