Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Duration: 3 months

Location: Media, PA 19063

Schedule: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday-Friday; Every Other Saturday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) is the face of our company to patients, providing quality blood collection and preparing specimens for lab testing following established procedures. The role involves direct patient contact, creating a trusting environment, and demonstrating leadership and process excellence while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. Responsibilities may vary based on assignment to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as needed. Under supervision, perform daily tasks accurately, maintain a safe environment, and verify patient information post-venipuncture to ensure proper labeling. Maintain records and promote a positive image to patients and staff.

Job Requirements
  1. Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced setting.
  2. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  3. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  4. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
  5. Adherence to all policies, including dress code and safety protocols.
  6. Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
  7. Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  8. Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with short notice.
  9. Strong customer focus and communication skills.
  10. Training may vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  3. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  1. At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  2. Minimum of two years in a Patient Service Center preferred.
  3. Experience in customer service in retail or service environments preferred.
  4. Keyboard/data entry experience.
