Title: Phlebotomist II

Description:
- The Phlebotomist II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.
- Provides excellent patient care by creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures clearly, and drawing blood specimens safely and accurately.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
- May be assigned to a doctor's office, patient service center, or other locations as needed.
- Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintains a safe and professional environment at all times.
- Performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established protocols.
- Verifies patient demographic information and labels tubes in the presence of the patient, obtaining signatures as required.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation.
- Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public, demonstrating organizational commitment.

- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
- Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record if applicable.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Strong customer focus, open communication, adaptability to change, and business knowledge.
Training Locations:
May vary based on trainer availability.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Certification required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- At least three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service sectors preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry experience.
