Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Duration: 3 Months

Location: Clifton NJ 07013

Shift: Mon, Tue, Wed 9a-5pm
Thu 9a-4pm, Friday 8a-5pm

Summary

The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.

The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.

The PSR II has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, or as needed by the business. Under the supervision of the area supervisor, perform daily activities accurately and on time.

Maintain a safe and professional environment. Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Verify patient demographic information, including initials and signature post-venipuncture, ensuring tubes are labeled in the patient's presence and labels are correct.

Maintain required records and documentation. Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Adherence to all policies and procedures, including dress code, safety, and guiding principles.
  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record if applicable.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours across multiple locations with minimal notice.
  • Capable of handling multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Superior customer focus and effective communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.
  • Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Required Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

  • Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • At least two years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
