Actalent is seeking a Phlebotomist II for a hospital-based laboratory in Portland, OR. The role focuses on phlebotomy, specimen collection, accurate labeling, and handling to meet test requirements.
You will work in a fast-paced environment with adult and geriatric patients, travel to patient rooms, and support a high-volume morning workflow while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
The Phlebotomist II plays a key role in supporting laboratory operations by performing blood draws and other specimen collections, troubleshooting issues, assisting with training, and recommending workflow improvements. This position works in a fast-paced hospital environment, interacting directly with patients and clinical staff to ensure accurate, timely, and safe collection and handling of specimens.
This role is based in a hospital setting, working primarily in the laboratory and regularly traveling to patient rooms to perform blood draws. The position focuses on adult and geriatric patients, with no pediatric responsibilities. The environment is fast paced, especially during morning shifts when the phlebotomist may draw blood for approximately 35 to 40 patients. Typical schedules include weekday shifts such as 4:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating coverage every third weekend and holiday work as part of the team schedule. The work involves regular use of phlebotomy equipment, specimen collection supplies, and laboratory instruments such as centrifuges, along with computer systems and Microsoft Office for documentation and communication. Staff follow established safety protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain a clean, compliant, and professional clinical environment.
This is a Contract position based out of Portland, OR.
The pay range for this position is $23.11 - $23.11/hr.
