Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Lampasas, TX, is seeking a Phlebotomist II for a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with rotated weekend shifts. The role offers $21.50+ per hour, with base pay determined by experience and potential bonuses.

Responsibilities include collecting specimens, verifying orders, data entry, and maintaining logs. Requires 3 years phlebotomy, English communication, and valid driver’s license. Benefits start day one for full‑time staff.

Qualifications

  • Three years phlebotomy experience including pediatric, geriatric and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible and available per staffing needs: weekends, holidays, on‑call and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA).
  • Effective English communication is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening and insurance exams.
  • Administer oral solutions according to training.
  • Confirm and verify written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
  • Navigate a computer and enter data accurately.
  • Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments when required.
  • Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non‑patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones and using email.
  • Read, understand and comply with departmental policies, protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data.
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner.
  • Complete online and in‑person training courses on time.
