  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients professionally.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transport.
  • Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and lab safety regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with lab inquiries.
  • Participate in departmental training and maintain quality standards.

Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Location: 21769 MERCHANTS WAY, KATY, TX 77449

Training Location: 7207 N GESSNER ROAD, HOUSTON, TX 77040

Duration: 4 Months

Schedule: MON-THURS 8AM-5PM & FRI 8AM-1PM

Position Overview

The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment while maintaining exceptional patient care and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities
  • Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles.
  • Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
  • Verify patient information and accurately match specimens with laboratory requisitions.
  • Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation.
  • Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as required.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations.
  • Answer phone calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries.
