Represents the face of our company to patients who come to Quest Diagnostics, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions. The PSR II draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures. The PSR II has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe and accurate manner. The PSR II will demonstrate Quest Leadership Behaviors while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service center, in a house call environment, long-term care or as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams.
2. Research test/client information and verify all written and electronic orders.
3. Complete data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration, test orders, and managing Standing Orders.
4. Enter billing information and collect payments, safeguarding assets and credit card info.
5. Process specimens: labeling, centrifuging, splitting, freezing as required.
6. Perform clerical duties: data entry, inventory management, answering phones.
7. Follow departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
8. Verify patient demographic info, labels, and signatures post-venipuncture.
9. Assist with monthly statistics, logs, and training updates.
10. Travel as needed to various locations and participate in special projects.
11. Perform Point of Care testing and act as a mentor for new employees.
12. Maintain facility cleanliness and safety, report repairs and issues.
13. Act as a coach and resource for staff, ensuring SOP adherence.

Qualifications include:

• Minimum three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Keyboard/data entry skills.
• Availability for flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
