Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in San Francisco, CA, is hiring a Phlebotomist I to collect specimens and support patient testing. The role requires a state phlebotomy license (NHA not accepted in CA). Mon–Fri 7:00 AM–4:00 PM with rotating Saturday mornings in Daly City.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab systems and approved tools.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Enter billing information and collect payments per policies.
• Process specimens (labelling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, stocking, sanitizing, filing, phones, emails).
• Read and comply with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics/data compilation when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and temperature logs.
