Job summary

Intermountain Health Cassia Regional Hospital in Burley, Idaho, seeks a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect and handle patient specimens for diagnostic testing. The ideal candidate will have basic phlebotomy experience (or training), a high school diploma, and BLS certification. On-call shifts and holiday rotations may be required.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required or preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment.
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections across patient acuities (Outpatient, ED, Inpatient, newborns).
• Adhere to PPE requirements and safety regulations in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and family while showing empathy.
• Take on-call shifts and participate in holiday rotations as needed by department.
