BMCHS is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform venipunctures, prepare and process specimens, and support laboratory operations in a full-time inpatient setting. The role emphasizes accurate patient identification, timely specimen routing, and adherence to safety and QA procedures.

The position requires strong English communication, competency with EPIC and Sunquest LIS, and a commitment to confidentiality and teamwork within a fast-paced hospital lab.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; NAACLS accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience in phlebotomy and/or specimen processing preferred (1 year).

Responsabilités

• Performs venipunctures per lab policies, including timed specimens and cultures.
• Identifies patients and labels specimens per policies.
• Prepares specimens for analysis and send-out testing.
• Centrifuges and aliquots specimens; follows handling instructions.
• Operates LIS/EPIC and documents activities; supports QA/QI initiatives.
