Job summary

Intermountain Health Alta View Hospital in Sandy, Utah is seeking a Phlebotomist I to accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a fast-paced hospital and clinic environment. You will perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections while communicating with patients and families with empathy.

The role requires teamwork, strong computer literacy, and adherence to regulatory and safety standards, with on-call shifts and holiday rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• BLS Required
• High School Diploma or equivalent, Preferred.
• Six months of phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy training or national certification as approved by manager/supervisor. Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
• Work in hospital settings and clinics as part of a dynamic team.
• Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, PIVO, and throat swab collections.
• Communicate procedures and instructions with patients and families with empathy.
• Adhere to laboratory compliance and safety regulations.
• Take on-call shifts and participate in holiday rotations as needed.
