Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a Phlebotomist I to perform blood collections and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced lab environment. This role requires skills in venipuncture, specimen handling, and adherence to patient safety and regulatory guidelines.

The ideal candidate will handle various age groups, ensure orders are correctly executed, and maintain specimen integrity while following NGHS policies and biohazard safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred through ASCP, NPA, AMT, NHA or similar.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture and capillary blood collection for all ages.
• Ensures doctors' orders are followed and specimens are properly labeled and handled.
• Maintains specimen integrity and follows biohazard safety protocols.
• Performs duties in accordance with NGHS policies and patient safety guidelines.

Job Summary

A Phlebotomist I provides customer service and skilled specimen collections, ensuring the validity and integrity of clinical specimens. Performs blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups. Ensures doctors' orders are executed correctly, special specimen handling for esoteric testing, handling and processing of legal specimens. Very fast paced environment with frequent subjection to a variety of biohazards. Employee performs clinical duties in accordance with population specific guidelines and adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined in policy and procedures.
