• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved training program in Phlebotomy.
• Eligible for registry by ASCP or ASPT.

Responsibilities

• Consults with healthcare providers/patients on phlebotomy care issues.
• Ensures quality and accuracy of work.
• Investigates problems with equipment, patient results, specimens or workflow.
• May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
• May teach and train new employees, phlebotomy students or other providers.
• May review test results to ensure accuracy of reporting and timely correction of errors or report results to providers.
• Performs phlebotomy procedures, quality control and equipment maintenance in the lab.
• Responsible for and/or ensures completion of daily work and assigned tasks; monitors daily operation of the lab.
