Job summary

Quest Diagnostics is seeking a Phlebotomist I in Bethpage, NY, with a Monday–Friday schedule and rotating Saturdays. The role includes specimen collection, data entry, and adherence to lab procedures, with a pay range of $24.00–$24.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical training preferred (medical assistant or paramedic).
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in CA, NV, WA.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions as trained.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab tech systems.
• Navigate computer systems and enter data accurately.
• Obtain ID and enter billing information, collect payments per policy.
• Process specimens (labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, transport).
• Perform non-patient facing duties (inventory, supplies, sanitizing, filing, phones, email).
• Read and follow departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist with statistics and data submissions.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs and maintenance logs.
