Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Dover, NH is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to perform blood draws for tests, transfusions, donations, or research. The role requires 2+ years of experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

You will explain procedures to patients, assist in recovery from adverse reactions, dispose of sharps safely, and enter patient and billing information into the computer. The position is on-site, night shift, 32 hours per week.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Salary range: $20.25 -$31.09- Pay is based on experience.$3,000 Sign on Bonus! 4-8hrs nights M-F with every 3rd weekend rotation.

Essential Functions
  • Draw blood for tests, transfusions, donations, or research.
  • May explain the procedure to patients and assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions.
  • Dispose of contaminated sharps, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and policies.
  • Draw blood from veins by vacuum tube, syringe, or butterfly venipuncture methods.
  • Dispose of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue, in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies.
  • Draw blood from capillaries by dermal puncture, such as heel or finger stick methods.
  • Enter patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into computer.

  • Knowledge of various techniques in collecting specimens.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and OSHA Regularities and an ability to maintain absolute discretion over highly sensitive patient information.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Demonstrates proficiency of proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens.
  • Superior customer service skills, clear communications skills, and ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy.
  • Knowledge and practice of proper aseptic techniques necessary to prevent injury to self and patients.
