Job description

Job Title: Phlebotomist I - 1st Shift

Location: 667 Stoneleigh Ave, Carmel NY 10512

Duration: 3+ Months

Shift: 7am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday
Every other Saturday 8am - 12pm

Additional Job Details:

Must be able to draw with a straight needle.

Description:
  • The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients, assisting with health routines and health decisions.
  • The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares specimens for lab testing following established practices.
  • The PSR I interacts directly with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, explaining procedures, and drawing blood safely and accurately.
  • Demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
  • Performs daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
  • Maintains a safe and professional environment.
  • Handles forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing confidently, following established procedures.
  • Maintains required records and documentation.
  • Promotes a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
  • Ability to produce quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training preferred: medical assistant or paramedic.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience.
  • One year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience required.
