Job description

Title: Phlebotomist I

Duration: 4 months

Location: Middleburg Heights, OH

Shift: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM to 3:45 PM, with rotational Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Description:

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who come in, either as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.

The PSR I draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing following established practices and procedures.

The PSR I has direct contact with patients, creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures and drawing blood specimens in a skillful, safe, and accurate manner.

The PSR I demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence and maintaining sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.

Under the supervision of the area manager, performs daily activities accurately and timely.

Maintains a safe and professional environment.

Performs forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties confidently, adhering to established protocols.

Maintains required records and documentation.

Promotes a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Job Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
  • Flexibility to work based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training such as medical assistant or paramedic preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience required; over 1 year preferred.
  • Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred.
