ICONMA is seeking a Phlebotomist I for the San Antonio, TX area to join a Clinical Laboratory environment. You will perform blood draws across pediatric to geriatric patients, assist with patient registration, and handle specimen processing with strict adherence to protocols.

The role requires prior venipuncture experience, proficiency with MS Office, and a High School Diploma or GED. Expect a fast-paced setting with opportunities for growth and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsabilidades

• Collect and store specimens; explain venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Ensure specimens match test orders and are packaged for transport.
• Store specimens at required temps and label appropriately for transport.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations.

Our Client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Phlebotomist I for their San Antonio, TX location.

Responsibilities:

• The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.
• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures. Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order. Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
• Candidate will be working at an IOP location. Draw blood specimens from pediatric to geriatric age groups and uses system for registering patients.
• Also performing patient registration and specimen processing.
• Will be responsible for keeping accurate patient manifest and remaining in compliance with the company.
• Will be working alone.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1-2 years work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
