Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in Mill Valley, CA is seeking a Phlebotomist I to work Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with rotating Saturdays, 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. A state phlebotomy license is required; NHA licenses are not accepted in CA, WA, or NV.

The role involves collecting specimens, data entry, and adherence to procedures. Pay range is $24.10–$28.75 per hour with potential annual bonus and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email usage as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.

Phlebotomist I - Mill Valley, CA — Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with rotational Saturday, 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Pay range: $24.10 – $28.75 per hour

Salary offers are based on factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and applicable certifications. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens according to established procedures (drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams).
• Administer oral solutions according to training.
• Research test/client information and verify orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools.
• Navigate a computer and accurately enter data.
• Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information; collect payments when required, following corporate policies.
• Process specimens including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order.
• Perform non-patient facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and email usage as appropriate.
• Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required.
• Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance logs and temperature logs as applicable).
• Complete online and in-person training timely.

Qualifications

• Required Education
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.

Work Experience

• One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
• Keyboard/data entry experience.

The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English.
