Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is hiring a Phlebotomist I for a busy patient service center in Broken Arrow, OK. The role involves blood draws in a fast-paced, team environment, with a focus on accuracy and patient care.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of drawing experience, pediatric and geriatric drawing comfort, and a steady, customer-focused approach. Mon-Fri shift, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with comprehensive vaccinations provided at the site.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where employed is required.
• Minimum of 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain clearly and courteously the venipuncture process and other specimen collection requirements.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Understand and comply with physicians' orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and follow transport protocols.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings; answer telephone calls and read laboratory results.

HM said this is a very busy PSC location, team setting. Looking for candidates with pedi to geri drawing experience. Will need to be comfortable working in high volume, fast paced environment. HM needs the candidate to have 1 to 2 years of drawing experience.

Summary:

• The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making workflow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Experience doing blood draws, labelling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain integrity of the specimen.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings. Answer telephone calls, read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED 0-2 years of experience
