Collects and processes blood specimens for testing in the laboratory. Fills in as needed in the department. Functions as one of the department's primary contacts with patients. Assists with clerical duties. Reports to: Phlebotomist Supervisor.
Essential Functions
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
High School Diploma Or Equivalent □ Preferred x Required. Completion of a Phlebotomy course or equivalent training/experience or National Health career Association Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Certifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 days. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Formal phlebotomy training preferred.
