Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a phlebotomy technician to perform phlebotomy according to established safety goals and hospital protocols in a busy laboratory setting in Miami, FL. The role includes receiving, labeling, transporting, and aliquoting specimens, with STAT priority handling and results distribution.

The position offers an hourly pay range and a sign-on bonus. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, with preferred phlebotomy or RM A certification and hospital experience,

Qualifications

• Computer skills, specimen processing, excellent interpersonal communication both verbal and written, and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy in accordance with established National Patient Safety Goals and Baptist Health published protocols.
• Receives specimens into the LIS accurately and timely, labels, transports, centrifuges, and aliquots specimens.
• Distributes specimens to testing section in accordance with collection priority, e.g. STAT over Routine.
• Faxes and distributes results as appropriate.
• Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures used within the department and hospital.
