Geisinger is seeking a Phlebotomist II to perform venipunctures and skin punctures, ensuring high-quality specimen collection for testing. Hours: 8:30 pm - 5:00 am, 9:00 pm - 5:30 am
The Phlebotomist II is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to provide high-quality specimens for testing and accurate information for laboratories and clients. The role involves independently performing venipunctures and skin punctures on all age groups, from neonates to adults. Responsibilities include obtaining blood specimens, processing them for analysis, using computer systems for registration, billing, and specimen accessioning, and demonstrating interpersonal skills to explain procedures and comfort patients.
Work is performed in a clinical environment. The role requires compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Additional departmental competencies will be part of orientation and considered essential for job performance.
As a phlebotomist at Geisinger, you will support our mission by collecting samples for our advanced labs, serving a diverse patient population, and troubleshooting physician orders. We value all skill levels and offer roles I, II, and III, with opportunities for certification and training.
Qualifications for Phlebotomist I, II, and III will be considered for appropriate compensation. Salary is commensurate with experience.
