Phlebotomist II is responsible and accountable for performing a wide range of tasks to provide high-quality specimens for testing and accurate information for laboratories and clients. They can independently perform venipunctures and skin punctures on all age groups, from neonates to adults. Responsibilities include obtaining blood specimens, processing specimens, using computer systems for registration, billing, and specimen accessioning, and communicating effectively with patients to explain procedures and provide comfort.
Work is performed in a clinical environment, requiring compliance with organizational policies. Additional skills may be required based on departmental orientation.

Qualifications: Experience as a nursing assistant, CNA, MA, CMA, military medical experience, or related fields will be considered. Specific experience levels are required for Phlebotomist I, II, and III roles, with certification preferred for higher levels.
