$1,500 sign-on bonus available

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

Performs phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks. Provides instruction and assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures, within expected timeframes, both on and off site as required. (60%)
  2. Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and ensures adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations. (15%)
  3. Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving) to ensure efficient operations. (20%)
  4. Mentors students in phlebotomy following AHN policies and procedures. (5%)
  5. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Phlebotomy training
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

  • Six months’ phlebotomy experience
  • Valid driver’s license may be required depending on work location
