Job summary

The Staff Pad is seeking a qualified Phlebotomist to join their Laboratory team in Las Vegas. You will perform venipunctures and related specimen collection while ensuring patient safety and accurate labeling in a fast-paced clinical environment.

You will document details in the LIS, follow NIDA guidelines for urine drug screens, and support ongoing quality control. Flexibility and teamwork are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a hospital or medically related environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to collect blood specimens.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.
  • Document specimen details, time drawn and received, in the laboratory computer system.
  • Perform chain-of-custody urine drug screens following NIDA guidelines.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to quality control and safety protocols.
  • Assist in troubleshooting lab equipment and maintaining proper operation.
  • Participate in training and mentoring new staff as needed.

The Staff Pad has partnered with a leadinghealthcare provider in Las Vegas, NM, to find a qualified Phlebotomist fortheir Laboratory team.

As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role insupporting accurate diagnostic testing and quality patient care. This positionis responsible for the safe and efficient collection, handling, anddocumentation of patient specimens while supporting laboratory operations andmaintaining compliance with established standards and protocols.

What You'll Do
  • Performvenipunctures, heel sticks, and finger sticks to collect blood specimens

What We're Looking For
Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Highschool diploma or GED required

  • Abilityto follow procedures independently and work effectively under pressure
  • Mustbe able to see with or without corrective eyewear and hear clearly
  • Abilityto work with exposure to infectious materials and handle emergencysituations
  • Willingnessto work flexible hours as needed
  • Abilitystand, walk, kneel & reach as required for the role & lift andcarry up to 50 lbs.
