Job summary

Texoma Medical Center, a Texoma region hospital, seeks a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood draws and support bedside testing. Under supervision, you will collect venous and capillary specimens and assist with clerical tasks as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED; ASCP certification is preferred but not required, and the candidate must be able to commute between facilities. This is an on-site position at Texoma Medical Center.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required. Coursework in phlebotomy preferred.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Phlebotomy Supervisor, Lead Phlebotomists, MLT's, Lead MT/MLT, Assistant Director and Director of Lab. Responsible to perform routine blood drawing procedures including but not limited to proper collection of venous and capillary specimens. Respond to hospital codes as necessary as well as bedside testing per physician orders. This position also assists in clerical duties and processing of outpatients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education. Training and certification from National Committee for Lab Standards phlebotomy program preferred.Previous experience preferred.
• ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologist) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required. Must be able to commute between facilities in a timely manner. Proof of High School Diploma or equivalent required on hire.
• Must have the ability to read, write and learn a computer system. Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups. Must have good verbal communication and listening skills. Must have commitment to team operation with excellent customer service skills.
