Job summary

The position of Phlebotomist 5456 is a contract role located in Falls Church, VA. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with an initial duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include performing blood draws, processing specimens, and maintaining accurate patient data while adhering to OSHA and DEP regulations. Requirements include phlebotomy certification and 2+ years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
Minimum 2 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Experience performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles.
Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to tubes.
Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
