Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to gain broad experience across multiple clinics. The role involves venipuncture, specimen collection for various tests, data entry, and travel to additional sites as needed.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday with hours varying between 5am-5pm. A vaccination requirement and a competitive benefits package including mileage reimbursement and incentive plans are offered to eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program required.
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record required.
• Ability to pass a color vision test may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately into the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 5am-5pm

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.

**Pay Range: $16- $21.31per hour

Work Location: Cambridge, MD

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Job Requirements

This position requires you to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required
• Must have a Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Must be at least 21 years’ old
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
