Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Laurel, MD and surrounding areas. The role involves blood collection for all ages, specimen handling, and data entry, with schedule flexibility Mon-Fri and occasional Saturdays.

This position requires a phlebotomy certification or training and is ideal for candidates with 2+ years of phlebotomy experience who enjoy teamwork and independent work. Travel to additional sites is expected.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods.
• Collect specimens for drug screens and other tests.
• Enter patient data accurately into the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when needed.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Deliver superior patient service across locations.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
• Travel to additional sites as required.
• Pass color-blindness screening and comply with safety rules.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Laurel, MD and surrounding areas. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (hours vary) 6:30am - 6:30pm; Saturdays as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Travel to additional sites
• Valid Driver's license with clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years' of age

Compensation & Incentives

• Sign on Bonus $1500.00 (external applicants only)
• Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour
• All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data
• PST's may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
