Job summary

Labcorp in Rockville, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team. You will perform blood collections, collect specimens, and enter patient data with accuracy while supporting billing processes and patient care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy certification or training, with 0–2 years of phlebotomy experience. This role requires travel to additional sites and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 2+ years phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all ages.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Rockville, MD and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (hours vary); every other Saturday as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Other Duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency may meet requirements
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Travel to additional sites
• Valid Driver’s license with clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ of age

Compensation & Benefits

• Sign on Bonus $1500.00 (external applicants only)
• Pay Range: $17.75 - $26.00 per hour
• All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
• PST’s may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics
• Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
