Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to cover Carson City and surrounding areas in Nevada. Schedule includes weekdays with occasional Saturdays, and travel between sites is required. You will collect specimens, enter data, and support billing activities while delivering excellent patient service.

Minimum NV license as a lab assistant is required; phlebotomy certification or equivalent experience is preferred. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary.

Qualifications

• Nevada state issued laboratory assistant license.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 1+ year experience as a phlebotomist.
• Ability to draw from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately in the system and process related billing when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs of patient and specimen data.
• Provide excellent customer service and travel to additional sites as needed.

Labcorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Nevada to cover Carson City and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday hours will vary between 6:30 am to 4:00 pm and rotating Saturdays 7:00 am - 1:00 pm; additional days/hours as needed

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Nevada state issued laboratory assistant license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 1 years or more experience as a phlebotomist
• Drawing on pediatrics to geriatrics

Additional Job Standards:

• In lieu of state license requirement listed above, an application for a lab assistant license filed with the NV Department of Health at time of hire may meet license requirement
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Pay Range: $17.75 - $27.69 per hour

Float Differential: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
