Job summary

Labcorp in Fairlawn, NJ seeks a Phlebotomist Float to cover Bergen and Passaic counties. Schedule varies 7:00am–8:00pm, up to 40 hours weekly. Duties include venipuncture, specimen handling, data entry and patient service across sites.

Minimum: high school diploma and 1+ year phlebotomy experience; preferred 2+ years. Certification from an accredited agency is advantageous. Valid driver's license and ability to pass color vision tests are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient data accurately and timely.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Fairlawn, NJ. (will be covering Bergen and Passaic County) Work Schedule: Monday – Sunday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-8:00pm not to exceed 40 hours

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.00 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement
