Job summary

Labcorp in Belleville, NJ is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Essex County. The position supports a Monday–Friday schedule with varying hours between 7:00am and 7:00pm and rotating weekend work.

You will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary methods across all ages, enter patient data accurately, and assist with billing and specimen processing. A valid phlebotomy certification or approved training is required, along with strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent with 1+ year phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification or accredited training preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Position Overview

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Belleville, NJ. (will cover Essex County) Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, scheduled hours vary between 7:00am-7:00pm and rotating Saturday/Sunday 7:00am-5:00pm

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent 1 year or more experience as a phlebotomist

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience

Additional Job Standards

• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record with reliable transportation
• Be at least 21 years’ old

Pay & Incentives

**Pay Range: $17.75 - $24.00 per hour All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics Float Incentive: Additional $1.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
