Job summary

Centers Laboratory is actively searching for Phlebotomists to work weekdays 8 AM - 7 PM at our Schenectady, NY laboratory. The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Phlebotomists draw blood, prepare patients, label specimens, and follow strict safety procedures to protect both patients and staff. Reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and may work at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 2 years proven experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred.
• Able to work nights, evenings, weekends, holidays and extended shifts.
• Valid State issued driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients using wristbands or documents.
• Assemble supplies and equipment for specimen collection.
• Determine venipuncture method based on patient factors.
• Draw blood using proper techniques.
• Label test tubes correctly and send for testing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety standards.
• Monitor patient and equipment during procedures.
• Educate patient on immediate aftercare.
