Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team in Los Alamitos, CA, serving the surrounding Cypress, Buena Park, La Palma, La Mirada, and Anaheim area. This casual/per diem role involves early hours, with flexible weekday shifts and rotating weekends.

You will perform blood collections, process specimens, and maintain accurate patient records while delivering excellent customer service. California CPT license and phlebotomy experience are required, with bilingual Spanish/English

• California state phlebotomy license (CPT) required.
• Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately and timely in the system.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs.

LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomist Float to join our team at Los Alamitos, CA to include, but not limited Cypress, Buena Park, La Palma, La Mirada, and Anaheim area. Region starting in Manhattan Beach to Newport Beach area

Work Schedule:

This is a casual/per diem position, hours will be as needed. Start and end times may vary between 4:45 am- 6:00pm, Monday – Friday, with rotating weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6 months or more of experience as phlebotomist
• California state issued Phlebotomy license (CPT)

Preferred Qualifications:

2 years or more of experience as phlebotomist 1 year or more phlebotomist experiences with Geriatrics and Pediatric patients Current or Prior experience at LabCorp undefined

Additional Job Standards:

In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency Bilingual with proficiency in Spanish and English Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service Ability to work in fast paced / high volume work environments Able to pass a standardized color blindness test. Be at least 21 years of age Valid Driver's License and clean driving record Reliable transportation Flexibility to work overtime as needed Exceptional customer service Strong communication skills; both written and verbal Ability to work independently or in a team environment Comfortable working under minimal supervision Able to attend 2‑week training in California

QUARTERLY INCENTIVE BONUS PROGRAM.

Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the Phlebotomy Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics

Pay Range:

$23.00-$33.00

Float Incentive:

Additional $1.50/hr. plus mileage reimbursement

All job offers will be based on a candidate’s skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.

Benefits:

Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
