Qualifications

• HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam.
• Phlebotomy experience in a high-volume, fast-paced ambulatory hospital setting or completed an accredited training program with internship.
• Registration eligibility: Registered Phlebotomy Technician (PBT/ASCP) or registry eligible.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood samples by venipuncture or capillary draw following departmental guidelines.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort at all times.
• Perform patient registration, visit processing, and other clerical duties as needed.
• Process specimens: accessioning, centrifugation, bar coding, and packaging for transport.
