Markent Personnel in Lanham, MD is seeking a contract Phlebotomist for a 3-month assignment with potential for permanent placement. The role includes blood draws, specimen labeling, processing, and maintaining patient records.

Schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday with Saturday coverage as scheduled. Requires state phlebotomy certification, 1 year venipuncture experience, and a high school diploma or GED. Benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 1 year of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
