Markent Personnel, Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Spartanburg, SC. Schedule is M-F 8a-5p with an approximate 3-month duration and potential to convert to permanent employment.

The phlebotomist will perform blood draws, labeling, and handling of specimens in a fast-paced lab environment, with benefits available. Responsibilities include accurate sample handling, patient communication, and compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients as required.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label correctly.
• Package specimens for transport and store at required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
