Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a Phlebotomist/EKG Technician for the Bellevue Medical Center in Omaha, NE. The role involves drawing blood and performing EKGs for inpatients and outpatients in a fast-paced environment.

This full-time, third-shift position offers rotation: Thurs/Fri 7:30 PM–5:30 AM, Sat/Sun 6:00 PM–5:30 AM, and Mon/Tue/Wed 7:30 PM–5:30 AM. Prior healthcare experience is favored.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and flexibility required.
• Computer experience required.
• Attention to detail required.
• Ability to multitask required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program.

Responsibilities

• Phlebotomist/EKG Technician responsibilities include performing adult and pediatric EKG testing, specimen collection, specimen processing, and distribution of patient specimens for testing while adhering to department identification policies.
• Perform, evaluate, and report patient specimens using point-of-care instrumentation.
• Demonstrate behavioral skills that contribute to a productive work environment and provide excellent customer service.
