Job summary

Nebraska Community Blood Bank (NCBB) is seeking a full-time phlebotomist to support donor screening and whole blood collection. You may work at a fixed donor center or at mobile sites, engaging with a diverse donor base and ensuring accurate documentation and safety throughout the donation process.

The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus, a variable schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and comprehensive benefits including medical, vision, dental, PTO, sick days, and a 403(b) plan.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Willingness to work a variety of shifts.
• Preferred phlebotomy or nursing assistant training.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document vitals of donor; qualify donor responses to determine eligibility.
• Perform blood collections in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and pre/post donation care.
• Assist with setting up blood drives, including loading/unloading mobile units.
• Perform cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning.
• Ensure accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and trainings.

Full-Time Schedule:This is a full-time position with variable scheduling. Shifts may be scheduled any day of the week, Monday through Sunday, between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follows safety procedures.

• Assists with the set-up of blood drive, including the safe loading/unloading of mobile units.
• Performs cleaning tasks, including equipment cleaning.
• Ensures accuracy, acceptability, and completeness of documentation to prevent loss of units.

The hourly rate for this position is $17.75 + shift differentials
