Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Lab Outreach Program in Lexington, MA. The role involves performing venipuncture, fingersticks and bleeding times, ensuring proper labeling and transport of specimens, and supporting QA and training efforts. Schedule is 40 hours, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM.

Minimum qualification includes a high school diploma or GED; ASCP Registered preferred and 0–1 years of related experience. A flu vaccination is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ASCP Registered preferred; NCA Certification preferred.
• 0-1 years related work experience required.
• Basic familiarity with computers.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, including blood culture collection, and fingersticks with proper ID/ labeling.
• Perform and report bleeding times according to SOPs.
• Ensure adequate stocking of supplies and report needs to phlebotomy leaders.
• Transport specimens to the testing site.
• Participate in QA, competency, mandatory training and continuing education.
