Job summary

North Bend Medical Center in Coos Bay, OR, is seeking a Phlebotomist for the Lab - Coos Bay Clinic to collect patient specimens and courier between NBMC Lab and Bay Area Cancer Center Lab.

On-the-job training provided; must have a valid Oregon driver’s license and be vaccinated for Covid-19 or willing to vaccinate. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, full-time with benefits.

Position Summary

Responsible for collecting patient specimens for clinical analysis. Specimens include blood, body fluid and cultures. Couriering specimens between NBMC Lab and Bay Area Cancer Center Lab.

Significant Duties

• Perform capillary collections.
• Obtain culture specimens from various sources.
• Instruct patients on proper collection of off-site specimens.
• Research specimen requirements for referred tests.
• Inventory and requisition phlebotomy supplies.
