Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Phlebotomist in Takoma Park, MD to perform blood draws, label specimens, and ensure accurate patient information. The role requires handling pediatric and geriatric patients in a hospital or clinical setting and involves manual and automated specimen processing.

The position is contract-based and fully onsite. Compensation is $21.00 per hour, with benefits including medical, dental, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation support, and PTO as eligibility

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification is preferred (not mandatory).
• 1+ year experience with Pediatrics & geriatrics in hospital/clinic/lab is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and label specimens.
• Update patient information accurately.
• Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
• Answer telephone inquiries and read laboratory results.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
