Job summary

HCA Healthcare is hiring a Phlebotomist at Medical City Plano. You will perform phlebotomy procedures to obtain specimens for laboratory testing and support the laboratory team in a fast-paced hospital setting.

You will greet patients, collect blood samples, label specimens accurately, and prepare samples for multiple departments, while also handling clerical duties as needed. Great benefits and career growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience or certification.
• HR diploma or GED required.
• Acute care hospital experience preferred.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and instruct them in proper specimen collection methods.
• Draw blood using finger sticks, heel sticks or venipunctures and collect other specimens as required.
• Label specimens for identification purposes accurately and enter specimen data into the computer.
• Prepare samples for microbiology, hematology, serology, blood bank, and urinalysis departments.
• Assist with clerical duties by answering telephone calls.
