Job summary

Diamond Medical Laboratories is seeking a 4 AM Mobile Phlebotomist (Contract) in Cockeysville, MD to collect blood specimens across nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and patient homes. You will ensure patient safety, verify requisitions, and maintain specimen integrity using sterile techniques.

Requirements include at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience and a certificate-level education in phlebotomy or related field.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log, flag discrepancies
• Ensure safe transportation of yourself and specimens, track mileage
• Verify patient identity by reading patient identification and collaborating with nursing staff
• Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures
• Maintain specimen integrity by aseptic technique and following procedures
• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection
• Maintain a safe, secure work environment by following standards and regulations
• Use computer skills to enter sample data into Laboratory Information System
• Serve and protect the community by adhering to standards and regulations
• Enhance laboratory reputation by accepting ownership of your work

Job Summary:

At Diamond Medical Laboratories, we offer a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team as a 4 AM Mobile Phlebotomist (Contract). As a key member of our phlebotomy team, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in various settings, including nursing homes, assisted livings, and patient homes. Our Mobile Phlebotomist plays a critical role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, while maintaining a commitment to safety, precision, and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

• Verify test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log, bringing discrepancies to the attention of facility personnel

• Ensure safe transportation of yourself and specimens, tracking mileage as instructed by management

• Verify patient identity by reading patient identification and collaborating with nursing staff

• Obtain blood specimens by performing venipunctures

• Maintain specimen integrity by using aseptic technique, following department procedures, and observing isolation procedures

• Track collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting times of collection

• Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, and complying with legal regulations

• Use computer skills to enter details of sample acquisitions into Laboratory information system

• Serve and protect the community by adhering to professional standards, policies, and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements

• Enhance laboratory reputation by accepting ownership of your work
