The Valley Health System has expanded into an integrated health network serving more than two million people in Southern Nevada. Starting with Valley Hospital Medical Center in 1979, the system now includes Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center, Spring Valley Hospital Medical Center, Summerlin Hospital Medical Center, Henderson Hospital, and Valley Health Specialty Hospital, with the newest facility being West Henderson Hospital.
Performs venipunctures and other patient specimen collections. Has thorough knowledge of testing and collection requirements. Requires moderate supervision.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Acceptable phlebotomy training program.
Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge required.
License/Certification: Phlebotomy certification required upon hire (Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care analyst license may be substituted). Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Advanced EMT, or Licensed Paramedic are also accepted. If national certification is held, Laboratory Assistant or Point of Care Analyst licensure with the State of Nevada must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Other: Prefer previous experience as a Lab Assistant, phlebotomist, emergency room technician, LPN, or paramedic with phlebotomy skills.
