Skills / Requirements
Job Summary
Performs phlebotomy procedures for the collection of blood samples. Demonstrates competency via direct observation and assessment for the following phlebotomy procedures: venipuncture, blood culture collection for bottles or isolator tubes, age specific skills. Accurately identifies patient and collects correct specimens. Achieves productivity standards. Maintains specimen integrity by collection and transporting specimens in a timely manner. Accurately performs assignments in registration and accessioning. Utilizes all equipment and supplies in a manner that ensures safety to patients, co-workers, and self.
Minimum Qualifications
School Education:
H.S. Diploma or GED
Licenses & Certifications: Certified Phlebotomist or eligible preferred
Work Experience: One (1) year experience preferred
Proficiencies: P.C.
Job Attributes
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Other; Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), EPIC and Rover (If applicable)
Work Schedule: Flexible; including rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required
Other Requirements: Phlebotomy Certification or Eligible, Soft Skills (Effective communication, teamwork, and adaptability).
