Ashton North LLC in Ohio seeks a Phlebotomist to perform routine blood draws, label specimens, and help manage specimen handling in a fast-paced clinical setting.

The position is on-site in Gahanna with a Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm schedule and a 8:30am–8:00pm shift on Thursdays, for a 3–4 month project duration. Prior phlebotomy experience is required and attention to accuracy is essential.

Formación

• Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsabilidades

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains venipuncture process in a clear and courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy; package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperatures.

Summary

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples.
